# Mobile App (Android)

> Using ShikshaOS on Android phones and tablets

## Download

The ShikshaOS Android app is available as an APK. Ask your ShikshaOS representative for the download link, or visit [shikshaos.com](https://shikshaos.com).

<Note>
  The app is distributed as a direct APK (not on Play Store). You may need to enable **Install from unknown sources** in your Android settings.
</Note>

## Installing

1. Download the APK file
2. Open it from your Downloads folder
3. Tap **Install** — allow unknown sources if prompted
4. Open ShikshaOS and log in

## Who Should Use the App?

| Admin   | ✓ Yes — full access on mobile                      |

## Features Available on Mobile

Everything available on the web version works on the app:

* Dashboard and charts
* Student management
* Fee collection and receipts
* Attendance marking
* Timetable
* Exam marks
* Notifications (push alerts)
* Reports and exports

## Downloading Files on Android

All exports (PDFs, CSVs) are saved to your device's **Downloads** folder automatically. You can then share them via WhatsApp, email, or any app.

## Keeping the App Updated

When a new version is released, you'll receive a notification to download the updated APK. Reinstalling over the existing app preserves all your data (data is stored on the server, not the device).

## Offline Support

The app requires an internet connection to load data. Basic pages may be viewable offline if recently visited, but actions (marking attendance, collecting fees) require connectivity.
